What I Hope People Say at My Funeral

I read/heard something in November 2014 that made me think about how I want people to remember me at my funeral and afterwards. I have 2 overarching life philosophies:

  1. I try to live life to the fullest as if where I am and what I'm doing is temporary (because it is) so I need to make the most of the opportunities I have now.
  2. I try to live in a way that if I die at any moment, I'll be ready to meet God with a clean conscience and be able to say, "I was not perfect but I really tried and I love you and Jesus Christ, and I believe in the power of Christ's atonement."
I really enjoyed the exercise of thinking about what I hope people say in my eulogies, imagining myself at the end looking back over my life...
Virginia 2013
I hope it goes something like this -
  • She was PASSIONATE about life and wanted the full experience of whatever she was doing, whether is was fun or hard.
  • She loved PEOPLE and really invested in her relationships.
  • She loved GOD and had a close relationship with Him.
  • She took good care of her mind, BODY, and spirit so she could increase her possibilities in life.
  • She loved LEARNING and had a zest for life.
  • She was WARM and kind and could always cheer you up.
  • She had INTEGRITY and always did what was right, even when it was hard.
What do you hope people will say at your funeral?
